The first mechanical harvesting investigations were conceived in the 1940s through the 1960s and conducted in all the major olive producing countries. Though the technologies investigated have differed, the goal has remained the same; a mechanical harvester that economically and efficiently harvests olives capable of producing quality table fruit and oil.
