An olive reproduction practice whose aim is to obtain new plants genetically identical to the original one, and which may be carried out by various methods, such as rooting of hardwood cuttings, rooting of softwood cuttings under mist or grafting.

Another problem to which we have to find a solution is the process of seeds multiplication, as the vegetative multiplication of olive plants production has already suffered investments which will begin showing results in a short time.

Additional information

in Spain, traditional oliviculture has used rooting of hardwood cuttings, which has been replaced by rooting of softwood cuttings under mist in modern oliviculture. Grafting is more frequent in other Mediterranean countries.
