An olive reproduction practice whose aim is to obtain new plants genetically identical to the original one, and which may be carried out by various methods, such as rooting of hardwood cuttings, rooting of softwood cuttings under mist or grafting.

in Spain, traditional oliviculture has used rooting of hardwood cuttings, which has been replaced by rooting of softwood cuttings under mist in modern oliviculture. Grafting is more frequent in other Mediterranean countries.
